Elk Falls and Jones Falls

6/30/13 - Drove to Elk Falls and took a side trail along the Elk River that connects to the Appalachian Trail...continued on the AT until I reached the side trail to Jones Falls....Elk Falls was crowded with people swimming and enjoying the falls....no one except for me at Jones Falls.

Sunset @ Beauty Spot

6/23/13 - Robin, Noah, Mia and I drove up to Beauty Spot to see the "Super Moon".....became too cloudy to see the moon but we got to see a nice sunset.

VW Bus and Tent

Robin and the kids got me a tent that connects to the back of my VW Bus for Fathers Day....so I decided to set it up in the backyard....a pre "Buses on the River" test.

High Rocks and Little Bald

6/15/13 - Hiked from Spivey Gap.... past High Rocks and on to Little Bald.... btw...Little Bald is not bald at all. Met a deer along the way and lots of stinging nettles....

Hump Mountain

6/8/13 - Hiked up to Hump Mountain....this might be one of my favorite day hikes....woods, water, large rock formations, sounds of underwater streams, silence and awesome vistas....something for everyone....

Dutch Oven Chili

6/1/13 - much better than the catfish gumbo....this made a pretty good hotdog chili....hum....what else can I make in the fire pit?

Watagua Dam
